Global-TALKE strengthens its presence in Italy with a new logistics facility in Filago (Bergamo)
Global-TALKE, the joint venture of the TALKE Group, is expanding its network in Southern Europe. With a new logistics facility in Filago, located in the Covestro Chemical Park, the company strengthens its presence in one of Italy’s key chemical clusters, creating additional capacity for customized and safe logistics solutions.
TALKE, one of the world’s leading providers of logistics solutions for the chemical industry, is further reinforcing its European network: its joint venture Global-TALKE is expanding its presence in Italy with the acquisition of a new 20,000 m² warehouse in Filago (Bergamo). Strategically located within the Covestro Chemical Park and just 50 kilometers from Milan, the site boosts operational capacity and consolidates TALKE’s presence in one of Italy’s main chemical hubs.
“With the new facility in Filago, we are significantly strengthening our presence in Italy and creating optimal conditions for specialized logistics solutions at the heart of one of the country’s most important chemical clusters,” says Víctor Gil, Managing Director of Global-TALKE. “Being located within the Covestro Chemical Park enables us to efficiently expand our services and stay close to our customers.”
The new facility will complement Global-TALKE’s existing site in Bareggio (Milan) and is expected to be fully operational by June 2025. Preparations for obtaining SEVESO permits are already underway, ensuring compliance with the highest standards for handling hazardous materials.
Designed with cutting-edge technology, the warehouse features 12 meters of clear height and storage capacity for 20,000 pallets across a total area of 30,000 m². It currently has two compartments of approximately 5,000 m² each, equipped with modern sprinkler systems. In addition, land has been reserved for the future construction of tanks and silos, allowing flexible expansion to meet evolving customer needs.
Integrated logistics services for the chemical industry
At the Filago site, Global-TALKE will provide specialized logistics services tailored to the specific needs of the chemical industry. Its main activities will include:
- Storage and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous products
- Filling operations for liquids and solids
- Comprehensive support for the chemical supply chain, including oxidizers, corrosives, flammable and non-flammable materials
