Global-TALKE takes part in the 1st National APQ & SEVESO Logistics Congress

The event, organised by APQ Plataforma as part of Expoquimia 2026, was held in Barcelona last June and focused on risk management, coordination and prevention in hazardous-chemical logistics.

Global-TALKE was represented at the event by Montserrat Marauri, the company’s Director of Quality, Environment and Safety. The congress brought together manufacturers, distributors, warehouse operators, logistics providers, insurers and public authorities with a shared goal: to advance towards safer, better coordinated and more professional chemical logistics.

Safety, a shared responsibility

Throughout the congress, some of the key challenges related to the storage, transport and management of hazardous chemicals were addressed. These included environmental liability, emergency planning, safety and coordination between companies, public authorities and emergency response services.

The presentations highlighted that safety does not depend on a single stakeholder, but on effective collaboration between all parties involved in the logistics chain, especially in activities subject to regulations such as the SEVESO Directive and the requirements applicable to APQ chemical warehousing.

Environmental management and regulatory compliance

The congress also addressed the legal obligations related to environmental liability and the need to adopt preventive, containment and remediation measures in the event of potential damage.

In this area, emphasis was placed on rigorous risk management, immediate access to safety data sheets, the traceability of goods and the availability of appropriate resources to respond to incidents involving hazardous chemicals.

Towards more professional chemical logistics

The event also highlighted new commitments for the future, including the promotion of specialised training for the different professional profiles involved in dangerous goods logistics and stronger collaboration between companies, public authorities and insurance providers.

For Global-TALKE, taking part in this type of event is an opportunity to continue sharing knowledge, strengthening its safety culture and contributing to the development of more prepared, efficient and responsible chemical logistics.

Safety, prevention and coordination remain fundamental pillars for ensuring reliable and sustainable operations throughout the value chain.
